The Almighty Sometimes

Diagnosed with a severe mental illness as a child, Anna was prescribed a cocktail of pills. Now, as a young adult, she discovers notebooks of amazingly imaginative stories which she wrote as a child. So, she wonders where that creative skill has gone, and what her life might be without the pills, and the labels that have defined her life. Her mother feels compelled to intervene - threatening the fragile balance they’ve both fought so hard to maintain.

Having run away to Paris ten years ago, Lyubov Ranevskaya returns to Russia, to find her childhood home drowning in debt. She and her brother snub the proposed scheme of former serf, Lopakhin, to sell their beloved cherry orchard to developers, and save the estate.
